Reclaiming Postnatal Traditions: The Path Toward Recognition, Respect & Integration

This opening session brings together respected leaders from Traditional Malay Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine to reframe how we view postnatal care—not just as a cultural service, but as an essential part of maternal health.

The panel explores how postnatal care can be professionally recognised, integrated into wellness systems, and delivered with clinical responsibility, without losing its cultural and spiritual depth. Through the lens of tradition and evolving expectations, we explore what “quality postnatal care” looks like in today’s world—and how we build pathways for future practitioners to uphold and elevate it.
